The Reason for Our Existence

I am always looking for a logical reason for our existence and the typical "God made us so that we could worship him, and if you don't he sends you to Hell for eternity" just doesn't work for me. After all an Omniscient God would already know how it would turn out and could send those to Hell that were going anyway and save a whole lot of trouble. I just don't buy it. And to those that would say we don't have the capacity to understand why God does what he does, I say, then he didn't do a very good job designing mankind.
Actually, Jerry, there is a very logical reason for our existence. The Bible tells us that God is a spirit. Being a Spirit, He has a problem working in a physical world. That's where we come in. Just like a mechanic or carpenter needs tools to do his work, God needs tools to do His work. That's us.
We are His hands, feet, eyes, ears and voices. He tells us what to do through the Holy Spirit within each of us and it's up to us to get the job done. Unfortunately, just as some people are tone deaf, some people are spiritually deaf. They can't (or won't) listen to the voice of God and try to do it their own way. Personally, I think the idea of somebody thinking they are smarter than
God is the ultimate in egotism.
Or maybe I'm just not smart enough to realize what a genius I am.
