Vatican Reprimands Nuns
A prominent U.S. Catholic nuns group said it was "stunned" that the Vatican reprimanded it for spending too much time on poverty and social justice concerns and not enough on abortion and gay marriage. In a stinging report on Wednesday, the Vatican said the Leadership Conference of Women Religious had been "silent on the right to life" and had failed to make the "Biblical view of family life and human sexuality" a central plank in its agenda. It accused the group of promoting "certain radical feminist themes incompatible with the Catholic faith."

It also reprimanded American nuns for expressing positions on political issues that differed, at times, from views held by American bishops. Public disagreement with the bishops -- "who are the church's authentic teachers of faith and morals" -- is unacceptable, the report said.

Thank goodness we have the wise people at the Vatican to keep those radical nuns in line. The nerve of some people-to be concerned about the poor. Who do they think they are, some kind of charitable organization? And social justice? The only justice these nuns should be concerned about is God's justice against those who dare to ignore the wise teachings of the bishops. You know-the same wise bishops who thought it was a good idea to protect priests who used their alter boys and students as sex toys.

Obviously the Catholic church would not approve of this group, where women are not only allowed but encouraged to speak out for injustice. My wife is very strong in her Wiccan faith. I have seen her literally work miracles with people, plants and animals. I would lay down the law to her about her radical behavior but she would probably just tell me to take two aspirin and lay down until the
fever subsides.

So I am grateful the Universal Ministries saw fit to make me a bishop. Obviously I never would have made it as a Catholic.

Best always
